In a nutshell: Stress is caused by changes. Changes affect your life from the moment that you are born - some changes are good, some are not so good, but all of them cause stress. You have to adjust to the new way of doing things, your old world is disturbed and you have to create a new mental map of the world.
Some changes can be predicted and controlled, others are not so under control.
